The "Emergency SOS" feature provided by Xiaomi allows you to send your location information, voice recordings, and other items to emergency contacts which must be set up in advance. This feature is designed for your safety. However, depending on external factors such as network connection, GPS signal, mobile data availability, device status of your emergency contacts (whether the devices are turned on/work normally, etc.), battery status, and other factors not within the control range of Xiaomi, the "Emergency SOS" feature may not work accurately and continuously. Xiaomi does not provide any guarantee that the "Emergency SOS" feature can be used normally under the circumstances influenced by the aforementioned factors. Any impact or dispute caused by your abuse or illegal use of the "Emergency SOS" feature has nothing to do with Xiaomi.
You acknowledge and agree that you will never abuse this feature or use this feature for any illegal purpose or infringe on the privacy, individual rights, or property rights of others. This feature can only be used if you comply with the relevant regulations and in an emergency. If you fail to use this service in accordance with these terms and conditions, you will be responsible for the risks involved.
Xiaomi respects your privacy. We offer you the option to control what items you would like to share while using the "Emergency SOS" feature.
You agree to send the information about your approximate location in the form of a link to the emergency contacts (at least one emergency contact must be set up in advance for the feature to work normally) when the "Emergency SOS" feature is launched. You also agree that the "Emergency SOS" feature can automatically enable your phone's GPS and establish mobile data connection without further notice or further permission. If your location changes, the location link will generate an approximate route so that your emergency contacts could keep up-to-date with your most recent location. You can stop sharing your location information with your emergency contacts by turning off the "Emergency SOS" mode. After that, your location will no longer be sent to your emergency contacts. Please be aware that within 72 hours after turning off the "Emergency SOS" mode, your emergency contacts would still be able to access the route sent before the feature was turned off.
If you choose to share your recent call history with your emergency contacts, you agree to send your last hour's call history (including call time, phone numbers, contact names, call duration) to the emergency contacts' mobile devices.
Your personal data will be protected in accordance with Xiaomi's Privacy Policy. All cases outside of the scope of these terms and conditions are subject to Xiaomi's Privacy Policy.
